Personal Profile 

Brad Kimmel

                       

MILITARY SERVICE

Brad retired from the military in 2003 after serving for 30 years with the Air Force.  Brad’s career started in 1972 when he entered the enlisted ranks, and in 1979, Kimmel was offered a commission.  He retired in 2003 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.   During his career, his accomplishments included:

·      Commander of the 122nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

·      Tours of duty in the Middle East and Europe

·      Developed the Senior Leadership Development Course for the USAF Air Staff

·      Served as a liaison for the State Department in Slovakia

·      Organized events to include:  BLUE ANGELS and THUNDBIRD Airshows

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CREATIVE SPORTS, INC

Creative Sports, Inc is a not for profit organization whose mission centers on

“providing quality events for family and youth”.

Through Kimmel’s leadership, Creative Sports, Inc has acquired the former the Tahcumwah Sports and Recreation Center on Fort Wayne’s west side and will be leading a community project to revitalize this facility to meet many needs in the community.   

 

   MEMBER OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS – FORT WAYNE SPORTS CORP

The mission of the Fort Wayne Sports Corporation is to promote the development of the Fort Wayne area through sports, as well as to further the quality of life of its citizens through the promotion and awareness of sports. As a Board member, Kimmel has helped organize and promote quality events in our community.

 

    MEMBER OF THE FORT WAYNE

"DOWNTOWN BLUEPRINT PLUS” PROJECT 

Kimmel has recently been appointed to a committee of community leaders to study the feasibility of constructing a multi-use sports stadium as part of the downtown revitalization plan.  This committee will provide input on type of facility, location, timing, funding as part of this analysis and feasibility study.   

 


PRESIDENT OF THE TRI COUNTY BASEBALL LEAGUE

This youth baseball league has grown each season since Brad Kimmel assumed leadership roles in this organization.  This league provides over eight young men from ten NE Indiana counties the opportunity to prepare for high school baseball and beyond.  (The league has grown from six (6) teams to fifty two (52) under Kimmel’s watch.)

 

THREE RIVERS FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE 

COORDINATOR FOR THE THREE RIVERS FALL BASEBALL LEAGUE

This program is designed to provide quality instruction to area high school students to enhance their skills.

This league has grown from sixty students to two hundred eight participants in past three years.

The Fall League now includes a College/Pro Scout Night to showcase area athletes for scholarships.  In 2003, the Fall League expanded and now hosts an annual Fall Development League for younger age groups.
